GENERAL QUESTIONS

Why would I use you rather than my local PC shop or PC World?
We are not a high street shop which means we don't have expensive overheads and because of this we pass the savings to you. This is how we can offer low prices while still maintaining a exceptionally high quality service.
What will you charge to diagnose my problem?
Zero. Zilch. Nada. We are proud of the fact that we offer free diagnosis, and can give you a quote for our time to repair your computer once the initial testing is complete.
Do you service / repair Mac PCs?
Unfortunately were currently unable to offer this service.
How long does it take?
Most repairs can be done within two to three days. If we need to order replacement parts, the delivery time will apply.
Do you offer maintenance to keep things running smoothly?
Yes, in fact we encourage it. Depending on your usage of your PC, a monthly, quarterly or half-yearly visit can help avoid major problems, deal with issues you are unaware of and can keep your PC running at optimal performance.
Can I buy my own hardware for you to install?
Absolutely. We encourage you to buy your own hardware. We are happy to advise on what you need and direct you to the cheaper places to purchase your hardware. We can also supply the hardware or upgrade you require.
Do you repair laptops?
Yes, we repair laptops, dealing with anything from small problems to motherboard faults that may be unfixable by other repair services.
How long does the data recovery process take?
The recovery of information will normally be completed within a period of 2 to 5 days to the maximum of 2 weeks. For badly damaged drives it takes as long as it takes to complete the task so please be patient. Please take note there is also a possibility the drive might fail all together while extracting the information. In which case your need to send it to the men in very white coats who would be your last and only hope.
Do you offer pickup and delivery?
We do provide a pick up and return service for any goods that you require to be repaired. This is subjected to a small charge from £7.50 to £15.00 depending on travel. Let us know were you are for a precise figure .Our main areas covered are, Witney and surrounding villages, however we have the facility to go further if necessary.
What do you need me to bring if I'm dropping my PC off to you?
All that I really need are the tower/base unit, and any CD/DVDs that came with it - particularly Windows / recovery disks. No need to bring keyboard, monitor, or any other peripherals. If it is a laptop, please include the AC adaptor. For all PCs, we will also need the password, including the admin password if different.
My PC has a blue screen. When I reboot Windows it does not work. What do I do?
Take a note of the details on the 'blue screen'. This will often give a code just after the word 'STOP'....... Make a note of these details - they will help us find and resolve the problem.(Were specifically interested in the following 10 characters - usually in the format of 0X0000007B)
Do you fix PCs at my home or take the PC away?
A simple installation can be carried out at your home. Troubleshooting a serious problem may require more time and is often best carried out away from your home. We are happy to work the way that suits you best. Please note that virus removal takes anywhere from 5-10 hours, we take away the PC or laptop to do this. A fixed rate charge is applied for this service.
Is my data safe?
We never delete any data unless it has been explicitly agreed with you first. If we need to format your computer you will be contacted before the procedure commences and your options discussed. We will keep you in the loop the hole way.
Do you repair printers / faxes?
In most cases it is cheaper to replace the printer / fax. We are happy to take a look to see if there is anything that can be done in order to repair. This is often not cost effective though.
What happens if you are unable to fix my computer? Will I be charged a fee?
No. We operate a strict “no fix - no fee” policy.
I have bought a new computer can you install it and transfer the data from my old PC?
Yes. Installing a new PC, patching and configuring it to work in your environment usually takes between 1-2 hours. If the old PC is working we can often copy everything over as it was before (please note - we can not copy over programs these need to be re-installed and must be compatible with the new PC). If the PC is not in a good state, we can take away the disks, transfer the data on to a portable HD or DVD and transfer this to your new PC.
I don't know anything about PCs how can I tell you what the problem is?
We can visit your home and check your PC with you. If you can show us the problem we can fix it.

Thank you so much for being so honest. another company would have pretended my technical problem was massive. you said it was very simple and fixed it in minutes, and i wish you had taken more money. Be back when i have another problem great or small.

Jenny

We were so impressed how efficiently they fixed our first computer that when we decided to buy a new computer we asked them to build one for us to our specification. The computer was quickly built and was a lot better spec than one we would have got from a shop at a lot cheaper price.

After a morning of fruitless ringing around, I stumbled across this website as I wanted a laptop keyboard replaced with a new part that I already had. I contacted MissionTcomputers and they said that they could do the job for £10 there and then.
